Welcome Reception

Today we had a lot of information sessions. There were the organizations and nations booths set up in the AF building. So I got a lot of free stuff like pens and pins that I couldn't understand (mostly political pins written in Swedish). And I also got a lot of flyers that I immediately recycled when I got back home.

The Vice Chancellor gave a speech in the Main Building later in the evening and then there was a party in the AF building at night. The Reception that the VC gave was interesting. The men's choir opened it up by walking down the center isle singing in Swedish. Also, it was the first speech outside of America that I have heard someone talk about combating terrorism. All in all it was good - short and sweet like I like it.

I didn't like the party all that much. The music wasn't good and it seemed like people wanted to stay with who they came with instead of meeting new people. I guess every party can't be like that though.
