The participants of sittning will sit around a table. During the feast a three-course meal in served. Depending on the occasion the meal may be simple or lavish. The proceedings are led by a master of ceremonies, whose responsibility is to uphold traditions and order songs, usually based on suggestions from the participants. Singing is an integral part. The songs include numerous drinking songs, some with a common tune with new words.
It was me and 6 Germans. We were dressed in our normal badass going out clothes, grabbed our hogs (bicycles) and galloped to the nation! It started at 7. We showed up at 7:30. We were rebels and everyone knew it. The Swedish people even followed our lead and showed up even later. After we had our appetizer - a sandwich - we got our main dish. And it looked so good (see the picture below)! Appearances can be quite deceiving though. The meat was like a dog's chew toy and the potatoes had the consistency of an apple and there wasn't any salt to cover it up. The white stuff was equally as bad. The tomatoes were amazing though! Wow! They should have cooked a whole meal of those and I would have been happy. The desert was alright, but still not as good as it looked.
We were surrounded by Swedish people and they sang Swedish songs. The Germans got along pretty well because the pronunciation is somewhat the same. I mostly hummed along but it was funny listening to everyone else sing. In my experience, the more people you have singing, the better it sounds. In this case it was the opposite. jajaja
Johanas lives in a corridor that is 3 minutes walk from the nation and so we went there to hang out before the party. There were bottles of fingernail polish on the table and we needed to peacock (reference to The Game by Neil Strauss), so we painted our nails. When we went back to the club, it was dy-no-miteeeeee! We danced the night away and got girls opinions on our nails. Unfortunately, being a designer doesn't make me a good nail artist and I lost every time to Leo. I guess practice makes perfect though hahah.
The next day, the Germans and I went to a hockey game which was quite fun.
