Dan and Nicolas got married and had 3 children - Leo, Maike and André. Complications arose in the delivery of André because Dan was 60 years old when she had him and so she died. (We added this part of the story later when Dan moved out of the corridor and André moved in.)
Leo and Houda married and first had Kadj (now married to Daniel), Stefano and Chris. There is some sort of twist with Kadj because she is also Houda's sister. Weird!
Maike and Yves had twins - Robert and John. They then had Keaw and are working on another so Keaw will have a playmate that is closer in age to her.
Other characters that are not directly part of the family need to be part of the story as well because we see them so much...or so little hahah. Bastian is a Dutch guy in our corridor who we only see when he eats. He likes his privacy and so we labeled him "The Neighbor." He married Dominica - a Polish girl who is always in England (I have seen her a total of 3 times the whole time I was here).
In Thailand, there is a saying: "Old cow eat young grass." This is the case in this family with Nicolas. Before Dan was pregnant with André, Nicola had an affair with Dominica. It ended roughly and we think that is why we never see Bastian and her.
There is another saying: "Flame to dust, lover to friend...why all good things come to an end."
I don't remember what that relates to, but it is kind of catchy.
